Collaborator
SANTIAGO
Santiago is a self made artist and regular processes and norms go out the window. For him there are no rules in art and that's the way he likes it. He is known for being multifaceted and fearlessly incorporating new ideas and techniques into his work.
Specialty: Abstract & Impressionism
Favorite Mediums: Acrylic, Mixed Media, Metal Work & framing
Why Pura Vida?
Santiago first learned of 'Pura Vida' on a visit to Costa Rica with his father many years ago and it connects his family to this day. He pours this energy into his artwork and hopes to inspire others to create and nurture their soul. Living as far north as Alaska, as far south as Mexico & many places in-between, with hobbies like fishing, hunting and team roping, Santiago's art displays his wide variety of interests and landcapes hes lived in.
Inspirations & Admirations: The Highway Men, Earnest Hemingway and Charles Russell

Ruth

Artist &
Collaborator
RUTH
Ruths involvement in art started at a very young age and she would often be found drawing in solitude. Her continued passion for art was fostered by her art teachers by placing her in clubs such as the 'Rat Pack', Honors Art & art competitions. Ruth continued to pursue art in college for a brief time. She has now returned to her passion and creates artwork alongside Santiago.
Why Pura Vida?
Although Pura Vida is normally associated with Costa Rica, its meaning transcends location. Ruths goal is to combine the pura vida energy with her northern roots. Hoping her art will reflect her Norwegian and Irish heritage and Minnesota home. Together, Ruth and Santiago represent North & South and everything in between and their artwork is indicative of such.
Specialty: Realism
Favorite Mediums: Acrylic & Scratchboard
Inspirations & Admirations: Baroque, Pre-Raphaelite, Neoclasicism, Renaissance Art, Georgia O'Keefe, Robert Bateman, and Art Teachers; Mrs. Cummings & Mr. Esser.
